MTV has cast Weird Al Yankovics and his co-stars as the title character in the movie adaptation and will also be starring in a new television series that is expected to premiere later this year.
“WeirdAl and his crew are thrilled to be working with the MTV crew,” the studio said in a statement.
“‘Wild Things’, the original HBO series, has become a cult hit and it is exciting to see them continue the legacy by making this new adaptation of the best-selling book,” the statement added.
“We are excited to work with ‘WildThings’ producer Michael Grossman, who has made a name for himself in the TV and film industry.
The new ‘Wild Places’ series will feature the talents of Weird Al, Weird Al Jr., The Black Eyed Peas and the Black Eyeds of Beverly Hills, and more.
